AUTHOR VISITS + COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Talking to children isn't just about sharing my story... it's about inspiring them to start writing theirs. In the end, we are all authors who each have our own unique stories to tell. Sometimes, we just need someone to help us find the courage to share it.

"Read for a Cause and Jill had a huge impact on our students. With a very limited budget, and being in a small, rural school that is off the beaten path, there are not many opportunities for our students to be exposed to exciting opportunities that bring learning to life. The students are still talking about meeting a real author weeks after the visit. They are creating their own stories, characters, books, poems and more because of the inspiration they had from Jill's author visit." -Lauren, Elementary School Librarian

"I just wanted to thank you again for yesterday's Writing Workshop. Several of the gentlemen were talking about it this morning and a few new people heard the excitement and have asked to join. Thanks, again, for sharing your time and knowledge with us!" - Sara, CBCF Program Coordinator

"For the past two years, I have been lucky enough to have Jill come in and talk with my class about being an author and answering all of their questions. This is just another way of how bringing literacy into the classroom is benefiting the students." - Reilly, Elementary School Teacher

Let's Make It Happen!

Looking for a speaker for your next event? Let's see if it's a fit!

Whether engaging with local Rotary or Kiwanis chapters, a gym full of elementary school children, or a cohort of incarcerated individuals, I've found there is always a way to connect, collaborate, and inspire.

So why not reach out? (What's the worst that can happen?)
